Abstract
Wheat is one of the most important cultivated plants in Turkey. Bacterial diseases are one of the important yield – limiting factors to wheat production in the world. This study was made to determination of wheat bacterial agents in Samsun Province. For this purpose bacterial isolates were isolated from leaves samples, collected from wheat growing areas in Samsun Province. The isolates were identified according to the morphological characteristics, biochemical and molecular tests. A total of 36 bacterial isolates were isolated from diseased leaves samples. These bacterial isolates were identified as; Rathayibacter tritici 15 (42%), Rathayibacter iranicus 12 (33%) and Xanthomonas translucens pv. undulosa 9 (25%).
