Law and Practices of Obligations in Galata in the Light of Sharia Court Records (Second Half of the 17th Century)

Abstract

One of the most important principals used in Ottoman History research is the sharia court records. It presents the introduction of the registers and introductory articles. The aim of this purpose is to evaluate the debt cases in the registry of Galata, an important port and trade region of the Ottoman Empire. Galata's 17th worldwide borders are very wide.
