Abstract
THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS AND WATER CONDITIONS ON THE GROWTH OF RAINBOW TROUT fOncorhynchus mykiss W.,1792) ABSTRACT In this study, the effect of different environments and water conditions on the growth of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss W.,1792) was investigated. The study was carried out in five groups with 2 replicates in fresh and seawater. The study was done in concrete tank (I. group), fiber tanks (II. group), earth ponds (III. group) and net cages in lake (IV. group) in fresh water and net cages (V. group) in seawater. The rainbow trout having average weight of 101-103 g at the beginning of the study were fed with extrude feed at rate of 1.5-2 % of body weight during 90 days. The average water temperature was 10.46±3.86 °C and 10.16±3.49 °C in fresh water and sea, respectively, during the study. The average weights of the groups were 260.54+5.55 g, 257.5±4.81 g, 260.47±5.16 g, 303.77±2.93 g and 370.8914.10 g, respectively, at the end of experiment. There were no significant differences between concrete and earth pond (I. and III. groups) (P>0.05) in fresh water, while the other groups were significantly differed from each other (P<0.05). At the end of experiment, the Spesific Growth Rates of the groups were 1.04, 1.02, 1.04, 1.21 and 1.46 %, respectively. The food conversion ratios were 1.47, 1.48, 1.45, 1.29 and 1.12, respectively and the best food conversion ratio was obtained in sea net cage group (V. groups. At the end of experiment, the condition fectors were 1.33, 1.35, 1.32, 1.23 and 1.22 and survival rates were 97, 96, 97.5, 91 and 97.5 %, respectively. Key words: Rainbow trout, freshwater, seawater, different pond types, growth.
