Tenisçilerde İmgeleme ve Karar Verme Biçimlerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

This study aims to examine the imagination and decision-making skills of tennis players. 114 tennis players voluntarily participated in the study. 74 of the participants are male and 40 of them are female athletes. The research used the Imagination Inventory in Sports and 'Decision Making Styles' scale as data collection tools. The 'Decision Making Styles Scale', developed by Scott and Bruce (1995) and adapted to Turkish by Taşdelen (2002), was used to determine the decision-making styles of the athletes. In order to determine the imagery styles, the Sports Imagery Inventory, developed by Halll et al. (1998) and adapted into Turkish by Kızıldağ and Tiryaki (2012), was used. The scale consists of 21 questions and 4 sub-dimensions. The sub-dimensions of the scale; 'Cognitive Imagery', 'Motivational Special Imagery', 'Motivational General Arousal' and 'Motivational General Mastery'. In the study, t-test was used to compare paired groups, and ANOVA tests were used to compare more than two groups. According to the results obtained, men's cognitive imagery scores were higher than women's (p<0.05). In the rational decision making sub-dimension, men's scores were higher than women's (p<0.05). According to the results of the comparison made according to the sports year and the age of the athletes, the motivational general arousal and motivational specific imagery scores of the tennis players with a lower year were found to be higher (p<0.05). In the intuitive decision making sub-dimension, the scores of those who only played tennis were found to be significantly higher than those who did other branches before (p<0.05). According to the results of the study, it can be stated that sports age differs in the sub-dimensions of imagination in tensiers, and this differentiation is related to the experience of the athletes. Athletes with less experience use more imagery. Inexperienced athletes use imagery to make up for these shortcomings. It can be suggested that the athletes who are new to the tennis branch should do imagery exercises in terms of performance development. Coaches can include imagery in their training programs.

Bu çalışmanın amacı tenis sporcularının imgeleme ve karar verme becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya 114 tenisçi gönüllü katılmıştır. Katılanların 74 tanesi erkek 40 tanesi kadın sporcudur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Sporda İmgeleme Envanteri ve 'Karar Verme Stilleri' ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Sporcuların karar verme stillerini belirlemede, Scott ve Bruce (1995) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçeye uyarlaması Taşdelen (2002) tarafından yapılan 'Karar Verme Stilleri Ölçeği' kullanılmıştır. İmgeleme biçimlerini tespit edebilmek için Halll ve arkadaşları (1998) tarafından geliştirilen ve Kızıldağ ve Tiryaki (2012) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Sporda İmgeleme Envanteri kullanılmıştır. Ölçek 21 soru ve 4 alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin alt boyutlarını; 'Bilişsel İmgeleme', 'Motivasyonel Özel İmgeleme', 'Motivasyonel Genel Uyarılmışlık' ve 'Motivasyonel Genel Ustalık' oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada ikili grupların karşılaştırılmasında t testi, ikiden fazla grup karşılaştırmasında ANOVA testleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre erkeklerin bilişsel imgeleme puanı kadınlardan yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Rasyonel karar verme alt boyutunda da erkeklerin puanı kadınlardan yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Spor yılına ve sporcuların yaşına göre yapılan karşılaştırma sonucuna göre daha düşük yıla sahip olan tenisçilerin motivasyonel genel uyarılmışlık ve motivasyonel özel imgeleme puanı daha yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Sezgisel karar verme alt boyutunda sadece tenis sporu yapanların puanı daha önce başka branş yapanlardan anlamlı olarak yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre tensiçilerde spor yaşının imgeleme alt boyutlarında farklılaştığı, bu farklılaşmanın sprocuların tecrübesi ile ilişkili olduğu ifade edilebilir. Tecrübesi daha az olan sporcular daha fazla imgeleme kullanmaktadır. Tecrübesiz sporcular bu eksikliklerini kapatabilmek amacıyla imgeleme kullanmaktadır. Tenis branşına yeni başlayan sporcuların imgeleme çalışmaları yapmaları performans gelişimi açısından önerilebilir. Antrenörler antrenman programlarının içine imgeleme çalışmalarını da dahil edebilirler.
