iiiDEVELOPMENT OF LOW TEMPERATURE AMMONIA GAS SENSORS ANDITS APPLICATIONSABSTRACTIn this work, low temperature ammonia gas sensors were developed by usingpolyaniline (PANI) obtained by electropolimerization of aniline. The performances ofdeveloped gas sensors were tested in laboratory by using ammonia solutions having theconcentration range of 10-6-10-1 molL-1 in a conductometric measuring system. A linearresponse was obtained in the range of 10-6-10-4 molL-1 ammonia solutions while theresponse time was short (<20 s) for all sensors tested. All sensors were used for 10weeks without any decrease in their conductometric performance.Single and multi ammonia gas sensors were also examined toward severalinterfering gas substances. The selectivity coefficients obtained with the method similarto separate solution method. It can be expressed that sensors were highly selective toammonia. Sensors developed were successfully applied for the tracing of ammoniareleased out by breathing of patients having stomach and kidney deseases. The resultsdemonstrates that sensors developed in this study may be used to pre-diognosis of thosekind of deseases. Keywords: Electropolimerization, Polyaniline, Ammonia gas sensors
