Publication: Samsun İli Sahil Kumlarında Doğal Gama Radyoaktivite Seviyelerinin Belirlenmesi
Abstract
Bu tez çalışmasında, HPGe dedektörlü gama spektrometresi kullanılarak Samsun ili sahil kumlarında doğal gama radyoaktivite seviyeleri belirlendi. Samsun ili sahillerinden yaklaşık her 3 ila 5 km arasında toplam 30 adet kum örneği toplandı ve gama spektrometresi yöntemiyle içeriklerindeki doğal 238U, 232Th ve 40K, ile yapay 137Cs'nin aktivite konsantrasyonları belirlendi. Ölçülen ortalama aktivite değerleri, 238U için 18.968±0,78 Bq/kg, 232Th için 16.506±1.408 Bq/kg, 40K için 327.806±8.211 Bq/kg ve 137Cs için 4.965±0.616 Bq/kg olarak bulundu. Bu aktivite değerleri kullanılarak tahmin edilen yıllık ortalama etkin doz değeri 0.039±0.001 mSv/y, ortalama soğurulan doz hızı değeri 32.653 nGy/h, ortalama dış tehlike indeksi 0.179 olarak hesaplandı. Elde edilen bu değerlerin Türkiye ve Dünya ortalamasının altında olduğu tespit edildi.
In this thesis, natural gamma radioactivity levels were determined in coastal sand of Samsun province by using HPGe gamma spectrometry system. A total of 30 sand samples were collected every 3 to 5 km from the coasts of Samsun province and the activity concentrations of artificial 137Cs with natural 238U, 232Th and 40K were determined by gamma spectrometry method. The measured mean activity values were 18.968 ± 0.78 Bq / kg for 238U, 16.506 ± 1.408 Bq / kg for 232Th, 327.806 ± 8.211 Bq / kg for 40K and 4.965 ± 0.616 Bq / kg for 137Cs. It is calculated that the estimated average annual effective dose value was 0.039 ± 0.001 mSv/y, the average absorbed dose rate was 32.653 nGy/h and the mean external hazard index was 0.179. It is found that the obtained values were less that that of Turkey and the World average.
