Publication: Bazı N-(Sübstitüearil)Süksinimit Bileşiklerinin Sentezi ve Asit Katalizli Hidroliz Mekanizmasının Araştırılması
Abstract
In this study N-(Phenyl)succinimide, N-(4-Methylphenyl)succinimide, N-(4-Chlorophenyl)succinimide were synthesized and their stock solutions were prepared in acetonitrile for kinetic studies. The acid catalyzed hydrolysis of the compounds synthesized were studied in solutions of sulfuric acid, perchloric acid and hydrochloric acid at 50.0 ±0.1°C. Analyses of these data by the excess acidity treatment, entropy of activation and substituent effect are consisted with an A-2 mechanism in the whole range of acidity. Catalytic order of strong acids for the acid catalyzed hydrolysis of the compounds studied were as HCl> H2SO4> HClO4 in the whole range of acidity. This is the characteristics of an A-2 mechanism.
