Abstract
In this study, leach tecnique was investigated for recovery of heavy metals in waste sludge which taken in metal coating industry. Copper heavy metal which has been in the maximum amount of heavy metals in sludge was selected. It was applied acidic and alkaline leach tecniques for recovery of copper heavy metal in waste sludge. Sulfuric Acid was used for acidic leach and Amonium Nitrate was used for alkaline leach. In scope of this work, As for comparison of leach tecniques yield, it was defined the best working conditions as 45 µm particle size, 3 M concentration, 70 ˚C reaction temperature, 180 rpm stirring rate and 1:50 g/mL solid/liquid loading rate and produced kinetic models for acidic and alkaline leach techniques under these conditions. Results were evaluated based on copper recovery and it was defined respectively 76% and 53% leach yields for Amonium Nitrate and Sulfuric Acid. It was detected that Amonium nitrate leach yield is more convenient than Sulfuric Acid leach yield in all conditions. Key Words: Acidic Leaching; Alkaline Leaching; Recovery; Waste Sludge.
