Abstract
ÖZET Bu çalışmada Elektron Paramanyetik Rezonans Spektroskopisi (EPR) ile paramanyetik katılarda meydana gelen faz dönüşümleri incelemeleri yapılmıştır. Alçak ve yüksek sıcaklıklarda birçok sayıda ve farklı türde faz geçişi sergilemelerinden dolayı, faz dönüşümü çalışmalarında A2BX4 yapısındaki kristaller kullanılmıştır. Çalışılan kristaller; [N(CH3)4]2CuBr4, K2ZnCl4, CuCl2.2H20 ve MnCl2.2H20 katkilandmlmis (NH4)2ZnCl4 ve Rb2ZnCl4 kristalleri ve [N(CH3)4]2CuCl4 üe [N(CH3)4]2CuBr4 tozlandır. Her kristalin, 100K ile 400K sıcaklık aralığmdaki çeşitli sıcaklıklarda, EPR spektrumlan alınmıştır. Alman spektrumlardan, g spektroskopik yarılma faktörleri, aşın ince yapı sabitleri, çizgi genişlikleri çizgi şiddetleri hesaplanarak bu parametrelere ve spektrum şekline, sıcaklığın etkisi, çizilen grafiklerle belirlenmiş ve sergiledikleri faz geçişleri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bakır ve mangan katküandınlarak fc|7ir1qnjm (NH4)2ZnCl4 kristalleri için Elektron Paramanyetik Rezonans Spektroskopisine ek olarak Diferansiyel Termal Analiz (DTA) tekniği ile de inceleme yapılmış ve EPR ile DTA'dan elde edilen verilerin uyuştuğu görülmüş, faz geçişi incelemelerinde EPR tekniğinin kullanılabilirliği gözlenmiştir.
im ABSTRACT In this work, phase transformations that occurs in paramagnetic solids were investigated with Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. The crystals that are in the form of A2BX4 crystal structure have been used for the phase transformation studies, because of the feet that they show a number of various phase transitions at high and low temperatures. The crystals that have been studied in this work are; [N(CH3 )4 ]2 CuBr4, CuCl2.2H20 and MnCl2.2H20 doped (NH4)2ZnCl4, K2ZnCl4 Rb2ZnCl4 single crystals and [N(CH3)4]2CuBr4 [N(CH3)4]2CuCl4 powders. For each crystal EPR spectra were recorded at different temperatures, in the 100K to 400K temperature range. Phase transitions were determined from the g factors, hyperfine splittings, line intensities, line widths, changes of the spectral shapes, and graphs of these spectra. Besides the Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, the cupper and manganese doped (NH4)2ZnCl4 crystals were also investigated by the DTA technique.It is seen that the results of the both technique are in accord and it is concluded that the EPR technique is useful for the studies of phase transformations.
