Abstract
Bu çalışmada; Li2KNH4(SO4)2 ve LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 tek kristalleri; γ-ışınlarıile ışınlanarak, değişik sıcaklıklarda EPR spektroskopisi ile incelendi. γ-ışınları ileışınlanan Li2KNH4(SO4)2 ve LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 tek kristallerinin, oda sıcaklığında;manyetik alan ab düzlemine paralel iken kaydedilen EPR spektrumlarında bir değişimgözlenemedi, fakat manyetik alan b*c ve ac düzlemlerine paralel iken kaydedilen EPRspektrumlarında spektrum çizgilerinin yönelime göre değiştiği gözlendi. Bununnedeninin; radikallerin c ekseni etrafında çok hızlı dönmesi sonucu olduğu düşünüldü.EPR spektrumları simüle edilerek, radikallerin EPR parametreleri belirlendi.Belirlenen EPR parametrelerinden; kristallerin yapılarında, NH 3+ , SO 3â ve SO â 4radikallerinin oluştuğu kanısına varıldı. Bu radikaller için bulunan sonuçlar,literatürdeki çalışmalarla karşılaştırıldı ve uyumlu olduğu görüldü. NH 3+ , SO3â ve SOâ 4radikallerinin oda sıcaklığında, iki kristal yapıda da eksensel simetriye sahip olduğugörüldü. Bu durum toz spektrumlarda da gözlendi.Kristallerin oda sıcaklığında kaydedilen spektrumlarında, LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4kristalinde tek, Li2KNH4(SO4)2 kristalinde iki tip NH 3+ radikali gözlendi. Bumerkezlerin g ve aH değerleri aynı fakat aN değerleri farklıdır.Kristaller 113-373 K aralığında ısıtılırken ve soğutulurken incelendi. Sıcaklıkdeğişimi, kristallerin yapılarında değişikliklere neden oldu. Li2KNH4(SO4)2 tekkristalinde sıcaklık düşürülürken 243 K'de yapısal faz geçişi gözlendi. Aynı geçişkristal ısıtılırken 293 K'de gözlendi. LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 tek kristalinde, sıcaklıkdüşürülürken 188 K'de, sıcaklık yükseltilirken de 251 K'de yapısal faz geçişi gözlendi.Bu kristallerin toz örneklerinin de sıcaklığa bağımlılığı araştırıldı. Tozkristallerin, 113 K'de kaydedilen spektrumlarında NH 3+ radikalinin mN=±1 yarılmaçizgileri genişleyerek gözden kayboldu, sadece mN=0 yarılma çizgileri gözlendi.Anahtar kelimeler: EPR, ESR, NH 3+ Radikali, Sülfat Radikalleri, Yapısal Faz Geçişi
In this study; the single crystals of Li2KNH4(SO4)2 and LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 wereinvestigated with EPR spectroscopy after by irradiating with gamma rays at differenttemperatures. Any variation could not be observed in the EPR spectra of single crystalsLi2KNH4(SO4)2 and LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 irradiated by gamma rays, at roomtemperature, that recorded while magnetic field is parallel with ab plane, but it has beenobserved that EPR spectra have changed with orientation while magnetic field isparallel with b*c and ac planes. It has been thought that the reason is the rotate of theradicals in about c axis very fast.The EPR spectra were simulated and the EPR parameters of the radicals weredetermined. It is concluded from the determined EPR parameters, that the radicals in thestructures of crystals were NH 3+ , SO3â and SOâ . All the results were compared with the4literature data, discussed and found to be in good agreement. It has been observed thatNH 3+ , SO3â and SOâ radicals, at room temperature, have axial symmetry in both4crystals. This results was also consistent with powder spectra.Two types of NH 3+ radicals were observed in the single crystals ofLi2KNH4(SO4)2 and only one type NH 3+ radical in the single crystals ofLiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 at room temperature, in the EPR spectra. The g and aH values ofthese centres are the same but aN values are different.The crystals were investigated 113-373 K interval. Variation of the temperaturehas caused some changes in the structures of crystals. While lowering the temperaturein single crystals of Li2KNH4(SO4)2, it a structural phase transition was observed at 243K. Same transition was observed at 293 K while crystals were heating. Structural phasetransitions were observed in LiK0.97(NH4)0.03SO4 single crystals, its were cooling at 188K and warming at 251 K.Also the temperature dependence the powder samples of these crystals wereinvestigated.
