Samsun İli ve Çevresindeki Köpeklerde Lyme Hastalığı'nın Serolojik Olarak Araştırılması

Abstract

SAMSUN İLİ VE ÇEVRESİNDEKİ KÖPEKLERDE LYME HASTALIĞI'NIN SEROLOJİK OLARAK ARAŞTIRILMASI Amaç: Samsun ili ve çevresindeki köpeklerde Lyme Hastalığının serolojik olarak araştırılması amaçlandı. Materyal ve Metot: Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Eğitim Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesine getirilen değişik ırk, cinsiyet ve yaşlardaki 153 adet köpekten rutin muayenede 2 ml EDTA'lı tüplere, 5 ml kuru tüplere alınmış olan kan örnekleri çalışma materyalini oluşturdu. Elde edilen 153 adet köpeğin serumları EUROIMMUN® Anti-Borrelia ELISA Köpek IgG (Lübeck, Germany) kitleri ile çalışıldı. Sonrasında pozitif sonuçlar EUROIMMUN® Anti-Borrelia EUROLINE Köpek IgG (Lübeck, Germany) kitleri doğrulandı. Doksan bir köpeğe ait tam kan örneği (WBC, LYM, MONO, EOS, BAS NEU, LY%, MONO%, EOS%, BAS% NEU%, RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW-CV, RDW-SD, PLT, PCT, MPV, PDW) çalışılmıştır. Irk, cinsiyet ve yaş faktörlerinin seropozitiflik ile arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesinde Ki-kare testi kullanıldı. Bununla birlikte seropozitif ve negatif köpeklerin tam kan sayımı değerlerinin gruplar arası farklılıklarının incelenmesinde Student t testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Samsun ili ve çevresindeki 153 köpeğin ELISA ile Lyme Hastalığı değerlendirilmesinde 10 tanesinin doğal pozitif olduğu tespit edildi. Cinsiyet ve yaş faktörlerinin seropozitiflik ile arasındaki ilişkinin önemsiz olduğu (p>0,05) tespit edildi. Diğer taraftan seropozitif ve seronegatif grupların ortalama tam kan parametreleri bakımından karşılaştırılmalarında istatiksel bir farklılık bulunamadı. (p>0,05). Sonuç: Samsun ili ve çevresindeki köpeklerde Lyme Hastalığının seroprevelansı %6,5 olarak bulunduğu belirlendi. ABSTRACT SEROLOGICAL INVESTIGATION OF LYME DISEASE IN DOGS IN SAMSUN AND VICINITY Aim: The aim of the present study was to determine the seroprevalence of Lyme Disease in dogs from Samsun and vicinity. Material and Method: Blood samples collected into the vacutainer tubes with or without anticoagulant (EDTA) (2-5 ml) of the 153 dogs from Samsun and vicinity, with different age, breed and gender which brought to the Veterinary Teaching and Animal Hospital, of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ondokuz Mayis, were enrolled in the study. Collected samples were analyzed with EUROIMMUN® Anti-Borrelia ELISA Dog IgG (Lübeck, Germany) kits. Afterwards, positive samples were confirmed with using EUROIMMUN® Anti-Borrelia EUROLINE Dog IgG (Lübeck, Germany) test kits. Nighty one blood samples were analyzed for whole blood count (WBC, LYM, MONO, EOS, BAS NEU, LY%, MONO%, EOS%, BAS% NEU%, RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW-CV, RDW-SD, PLT, PCT, MPV, PDW). Chi-square test was used for analyzing the effects of breed, gender, age of the seropositive dogs. Moreover, Student's t-tests were used to identify statistically significant differences between two seropositive and negative groups for the whole blood count. Results: Ten of 153 dogs were detected as natural positive for Lyme Disease with using ELISA in Samsun and vicinity. Relations of age and gender for seropositivity remains insignificant (p>0.05). On the other hand, any statistical difference (p>0.05) were found for comparing the mean whole blood parameters in seropositive and negative group. Conclusion: Seroprevalance of the Lyme Disease in dogs in Samsun and vicinity was detected as 6.5%.
