Abstract
The bioclimatic comfort conditions of Samsun between 2000-2015 were determined by using the data of Atakum Meteorological Station by taking into account the latitude, altitude, sea level and land use characteristics. The temporal and spatial distribution of bioclimatic comfort conditions was made. Multilineal regression model was used in the spatial distribution of the monthly average Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) values. According to calculations made in Samsun, between November and April, '' Cold '' conditions are experienced. May and October are perceived as '' Light Cool ''. June and September, the 'Comfortable' conditions are prevalent and July and August are perceived as 'Light Warm'. In the spatial distribution of Pet (Physiological Equivalent Temperature) values, a difference of 2-3ºC Pet (Physiological Equivalent Temperature) occurs in coastal zone and coastal transition regions. The effect of urbanization on bioclimatic comfort conditions was assessed using daily data from Atakum and Çınarlık meteorological stations. Depending on the land use, there are differences in the values of Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) between 0.3 ºC and 1.7 ºC between the city center and the rural area. The highest values of Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) are August (1,1 ° C), October (1,6 ° C), November (1,7 ° C) and December (1,3 ° C) months. The minimum difference is February (0.4 ºC) and May (0.3 ºC) months. Heat islands have formed in four (4) neighborhoods with intense construction. It has been determined that these neighborhoods are Esenevler Neighborhood in Atakum District, Rasathane Neighborhood and Selahiye Neighborhood in İlkadım District and Soğuksu Neighborhood in Canik District. Key Words: PET (Physiological Equivalent Temperature), Bioclimatic Comfort, Samsun, Urbanization.
