Abstract

Throughout Islamic history, various forty hadiths compilations have been written in the form of booklets and then memorized and replicated in connection of Prophet Mohammed's sound hadith "Allah Almighty will resurrect those in my ummah memorizing forty hadiths related to religious matters among Islamic jurisprudents and scholars". Especially in Classical Turkish Literature tradition, some poets tended to write in poetic forms the translation of various compiled hadiths, which led the way to the written tradition of Poetic Forty Hadiths. In this work, we will try to determine the place of the translation of forty hadiths compilation entitled Ehadis-i Erbain authored by eighteen century poet Manastirli Hasan bin Ali in the tradition of Poetic Forty Hadiths and we will give the transcript text of the forty hadiths.
