Abstract
iDİATOMİT KATKILI BETONLARIN YÜK ALTINDAKİ DAVRANIŞ VEKULLANILABİLİRLİK ÖZELLİKLERİÖZETBu çalışmada doğal bir puzolan olan diatomit maddesinin, betonun işlenebilmeözelliklerine, priz süresine ve eksenel yük altındaki davranışına etkileri araştırılmıştır.Diatomit betona toz haline getirildikten sonra ilave edilmiştir. Diatomit incelikdeğerinin beton üzerinde yaptığı etkinin görülebilmesi açısından, deneylerde iki farklıincelik yani iki farklı özgül yüzey alanına sahip diatomit kullanılmıştır.Diatomitlerin öğütülmesinde çeneli kırıcı ve bilyalı değirmendenyararlanılmıştır. Öğütmeden sonra, kullanılacak diatomitlerin özgül yüzeyleri 7550cm2/g ve 12950 cm2/g olarak tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada, su/bağlayıcı oranının etkisinigörebilmek amacıyla da, beton karışımlarında 0.50 ve 0.55 olmak üzere iki farklısu/bağlayıcı oranı kullanılmıştır. Diatomitler betona ağırlıkları oranında çimento ile yerdeğiştirilerek ilave edilmiştir.Çalışmada, diatomit katkılı betonlar ile diatomit katkısız betonlarınkarşılaştırılabilmesi için 0.50 ve 0.55 su/çimento oranlarına sahip toplam 18 adet içindediatomit bulunmayan `şahit numune' üretilmiştir. Daha sonra içinde farklı oranlardadiatomit bulunan betonların üretimine geçilmiştir. Toplam 108 adet diatomit katkılıbeton numune üretilmiştir. Üretilen numuneler üzerinde slump (çökme), basınç ve prizsüresi deneyleri yapılmıştır.Ölçülen slump (çökme) değeri sonuçlarına göre diatomitin işlenebilirliğizorlaştırdığı, diatomit yüzdesi arttıkça çökme değerlerinin daha da azaldığı görülmüştür.Priz süresi deneyleri sonucunda, kullanılan diatomitin inceliğinin ve kullanımoranının artışına bağlı olarak prizi geciktirdiği gözlenmiştir.Yapılan basınç deneyleri sonuçlarına göre su/bağlayıcı oranının düşük olduğudurumdaki sonuçların daha iyi olduğu gözlenmiştir.iiSonuç olarak, diatomitin betonda priz geciktirici katkı maddesi olarak, yükseksu emme kapasitesinden dolayı betonun terlemesini önlemek amacıyla su tutucuplastifiyan olarak ve düşük su/bağlayıcı oranlı betonlarda dayanım artırıcı katkı maddesiolarak kullanılabileceği söylenebilir.Anahtar kelimeler: Diatomit, puzolan, priz, çökme.
iiiTHE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BEHAVIOUR AND USEBILITY OFCONCRETE WITH DIATOMITE UNDER LOADABSTRACTIn this study, the effects of diatomite, as a natural pozzolan substance, on thetreatment of concrete, period of solidification period and on its behavior under pressureload have been investigated.Diatomite has been added to the concrete after it was turned into powder. Inorder to see the effect of the flakiness diatomite on concrete, two different flakes, that isto say two types of diatomites with two different specific surface fields have been usedin the study.Hooked broker and grinder with ball-bearing have been used in the grindingprocess of diatomites. After the grinding, the specific surface of the diatomites to beused has been calculated as 7550 cm2/g and 12950 cm2/g. In order to see the effects ofthe rate of water/binding, two different kinds of water/binding rates of 0.50 and 0.55have been used in the concretes. Diatomites have been added to the concrete, beingreplaced by the cement according to their concrete weight.In the study, 18 samples have been produced without any diatomites of 0.50 and0.55 water/cement rate in order to compare concretes with diatomite and concreteswithout diatomite. Then the concrete with different amount of diatomites has beenproduced. In total 108 concrete samples with diatomite have been developed. On thesamples produced, some experiments such as slump, pressure and solidification periodhave been conducted.The results of the slump experiments have indicated that diatomite makesprocessing difficult and there is no correlation between the percentage of diatomite andthe value of slump.The results of the solidification period experiments have clarified that thediatomite which is used delays the solidification with respect to its flakiness and theincrease of the rate of its use.The results of the pressure experiments have showed that the results in which therates of water/binding are low can be better than the others.ivIn conclusion, it can be stated that diatomite can be used as an additive substancewhich enables the concrete to have solidification, as a water/binding which prevents theconcrete from sweating because of the high capacity of water suction and as an additivesubstance which increases the resistance of the concrete with the low amount ofwater/binding.Key words: Diatomite, pozzolan, solidification, slump.
