Doğum İzni Sonrası İşe Başlayan Hemşire ve Doktorların İşe Uyum Deneyimleri: Bir Fenomenoloji Araştırması

Abstract

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the experiences of nurses and doctors who started work after maternity leave. Method: The study was conducted in accordance with the phenomenology design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The research complies with the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Studies (COREQ) guidelines. The sample of the study was created with a purposeful sampling and maximum diversity sampling from nurses and doctors working in a university hospital. 20 healthcare mothers including 10 nurses and 10 doctors were included in the sampling. Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews with participants and observer notes. An Introductory Information Form and Semi-Structured Interview Form were used to collect data. The data were thematically analyzed using Collaizzi's Continuous Comparative Method. Results: Five themes and 17 sub-themes were determined in the study. Themes; Being a Doctor / Nurse Mother, Thinking About Return, Starting Again, If There Is A Supporter Everything Is Easier, To Accomplish The Difficult. Sub themes; On Knowing Both Good And Bad, I Learned With Him, Between Motherhood And Hospital, I Wanted To Return / Did Not Want To Leave Her, To Whom I Will Trust My Baby, Separation Ritual, Forgive Me, First Day, My Mind Is At Home, Novice Again, Like Looking At My Child, Spouse And Family Support , Institutional Support, You Have the Obligation, Someone Stumbles, Developing, Expanding, Mothers Are Good Heroes. Conclusion: Professional knowledge and experience have multidimensional effects on motherhood adjustment, women experience different levels of anxiety during the return to work after maternity leave, social support has positive effects in the process of returning to work, the approach of colleagues and managers affects both job adaptation and adjustment to motherhood, it has been determined that being a mother working in the health sector is a difficult process, it was determined that nurses did not find the right of breastfeeding leave sufficient for mothers, on the other hand it was determined that doctor mothers could not use their right to breastfeeding sufficiently. In line with the results obtained in the study, suggestions were made to researchers, practitioners and educators.

Amaç: Bu araştırma doğum izni sonrası işe başlayan hemşire ve doktorların bu sürece ilişkin deneyimlerinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan fenomoloji desenine uygun şekilde yapılmıştır. Araştırma Kalitatif Çalışmaları Raporlamak İçin Konsolide Kriterler (COREQ) rehberine uygundur. Araştırmanın örneklemi bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışan hemşire ve doktorlardan amaca yönelik örneklem ve maximum çeşitlilik örneklemesi ile oluşturulmuştur. Örnekleme 10 hemşire ve 10 doktor olmak üzere 20 sağlık çalışanı anne alınmıştır. Veriler katılımcılarla yapılan bireysel derinlemesine görüşmeler ve gözlemci notları ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler Collaizzi'nin Sürekli Karşılaştırmalı Yöntemi kullanılarak tematik analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmada beş tema ve 17 alt tema saptanmıştır. Temalar; Doktor/Hemşire Anne Olmak, Dönüşü Düşünmek, Yeniden Başlamak, Destekleyenin Varsa Her Şey Daha Kolay, Zoru Başarmak' tır. Alt temalar; Bilmek Üzerine Hem İyi Hem Kötü, Onunla Öğrendim, Annelik ve Hastane Arasında, Dönmek İstedim/ Onu Bırakmak İstemedim, Bebeğimi Kime Emanet Edeceğim, Ayrılık Ritüeli, Beni Affet, İlk Gün, Aklım Evde, Yeniden Acemi, Çocuğuma Bakar Gibi, Eş ve Aile Desteği, Kurumsal Destek, Yükümlülük Sende, Birinden Biri Tökezliyor, Gelişmek-Genişlemek, Anneler İyi Kahraman'dır. Sonuç: Mesleki bilgi ve deneyimin anneliğe uyum üzerinde çok boyutlu etkileri olduğu, doğum izni sonrası işe dönüş sürecinde kadınların faklı düzeylerde kaygı yaşadığı, sosyal desteğin işe dönüş sürecinde olumlu etkileri olduğu, iş arkadaşları ve yöneticilerin yaklaşımının hem işe uyumu hem anneliğe uyumu etkilediği, sağlık sektöründe çalışan anne olmanın zorlu bir süreç olduğu, hemşire annelerin süt izni haklarını yeterli bulmadığı, doktor annelerin ise süt izni haklarını yeterince kullanamadığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada ulaşılan sonuçlar doğrultusunda araştırmacılara, uygulayıcılara ve eğitimcilere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
