Abstract
II THE ALTERNATIONS OF THE ERYTHROCYTE RADICAL SCAVENGER ENZYMES (Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase, Glutathion Peroxidase) ACTIVITIES, AFTER LIVER ISCHEMIA/REPERFUSION IN RATS BEFORE GIVEN ASPIRIN AND VİTAMİNE E (a-Tocopherol) ABSTRACT In this study, the effects of Aspirin and Vitamine E on the erythrocyte radical scaverger enzymes activities (Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase, Glutathion Peroxidase) after liver ischemia/reperfusion have studied in rats. For this purpose, six groupsof animals were used, sham-operated group, assay groups as given aspirin, vitamine E and aspirin + vitamine E and control groups as given NaCI, Cora oil. The compounds had given before six hours by intraperitonal injection and had been done liver ischemia for 45 minutes and reperfusion and rats blood were collected according to the reperfusion periods as 0, 2nd, 8th, and 24th hours by intracardiac operation. This blood had been used according to the assay procedure and finally had been obtained erythrocyte fractions. The enzyme activities had been determined in this fractions. It was concluded that Aspirin + Vitamine E inhibited radical scaverger enzymes activities more than Aspirin and Vitamine E were given individually.
