Publication: Diurnal Varyasyona Göre Farklı Şiddetlerde Uygulanan Fonksiyonel Isınmanın Dikey Sıçramaya, Esnekliğe ve Çevikliğe Etkisi
Abstract
Objective: Competition performances are evaluated using various methods to ensure uniformity among different sports and between competitions. These evaluations can be conducted between morning elimination rounds and evening finals. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of functionally warm-up exercises applied at different intensities according to diurnal variation on vertical jump, flexibility, and agility. Materials and Methods: Muay Thai athletes performed different non-functional protocols (NFI-%40 and NFI-%60), low-intensity functional warm-up protocol (LFI), and moderate-intensity functional warm-up protocol (MFI) twice a day, in the morning and afternoon. Performance measurements were completed on non-consecutive days (9:00-11:00 and 16:00-18:00) among these protocols. Performance tests included Countermovement Jump (CMJ), T-agility, and flexibility tests. Average and peak power were calculated based on CMJ results. Results: According to the findings of the study, vertical jump (F = 4.85; p = 0.00), average strength (F = 2.85; p = 0.03), T agility (F = 92.92; p = <.001), flexibility (F = 4.67; p = 0.00) The main effect of warm-up protocols was seen for Post-hoc analyzes showed that vertical jump values were significantly higher in the MFI protocols than in the NFI-40% and NFI-60% protocols (p <0.05). It showed that mean power values were significantly higher in the MFI protocols than in the NFI-40% protocol (p <0.05). It showed that mean power values were significantly higher in the MFI protocols than in the NFI-40% protocols (p <0.05). T showed that agility values were significantly higher in the MFI protocols than in the LFI, NFI-40% and NFI-60% protocols (p <.001). In addition, post-hoc analyzes showed that T agility values were significantly higher in the LFI protocols than in the NFI-40% and NFI-60% protocols (p <.001). Results: It was reported that daily variations had an impact on vertical jump, peak power, average power, T-agility, and flexibility performance. It can be observed that the performances of Muay Thai athletes were positively influenced, particularly in the late hours following the MFI protocols.
