Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Öğrencilerinde Uyku Kalitesinin Öfke ve Öfke İfade Tarzı İle İlişkisi

Abstract

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmanın amacı Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinde uyku kalitesinin öfke ve öfke ifade tarzı ile ilişkisini değerlendirmektir. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Çalışmamız kesitsel, açık kontrolsüz tipte bir anket çalışmasıdır. Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp fakültesi bir, iki ve üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinde sözlü onamları alındıktan sonra yüz yüze görüşülerek veri toplama formu kendilerine uygulanmıştır. Çalışmaya 485 öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin 256'sı kadın, 229'u erkek bireylerden oluşmakta. Verilerin toplanmasında; sosyodemografik veri formu, Pittsburgh Uyku Kalitesi İndeksi, Sürekli Öfke ve Öfke İfade Tarzı Ölçeğinden oluşan bir form kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 25) paket programı kullanılmıştır. İstatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyi tüm testler için p<0,05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. BULGULAR: PUKİ total puan ortalamaları 6,42±2,77 bulunmuş ve %59,5'inde uyku kalitesinin kötü olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin sürekli öfke ortalama puanı 19,6±5,48, öfke içe ortalama puanı 17,48±4,27, öfke dışa puanı 15,13±3,62, öfke kontrol puan ortalaması ise 21,8± 4,49 olarak bulundu. PUKİ total puan ile sürekli öfke, öfke içe, öfke dışa puanı arasında pozitif ve anlamlı ilişki bulundu. PUKİ ve öfke kontrolü arasında ise negatif ve anlamlı ilişki bulundu. Sürekli öfke puanı ile öfke içe, öfke dışa ve öfke kontrolü arasında anlamlı ilişki bulundu. PUKİ ile yaş arasında anlamlı ilişki bulundu. Öfke içe ve öfke dışa puanı ile cinsiyet arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. SONUÇ: Tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinde uyku kalitesi düşük olup sürekli öfke düzeyi, öfke içe durumu ve öfke dışa vurumunda artışa neden olduğu ayrıca öfke kontrolünü de azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Sürekli öfke durumunun öfkeyi hem içe atmayı hem de dışa vurmayı artırdığının ve öfke kontrolünü zorlaştırdığını tespit ettik. Bu konuda öğrencilere hem uyku hem de öfke yönetimi konusunda eğitimler verilmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir. AİM: The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between sleep quality and anger and anger expression style in Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Our study is a cross-sectional, open uncontrolled type survey study. After their verbal consent was obtained, the data collection form was applied to the first, second and third year students of Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine by interviewing them face to face. 485 students participated in the study. 256 of the students are female and 229 are male. In the collection of data; A form consisting of sociodemographic data form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Trait Anger and Anger Expression Style Scale was used. SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 25) package program was used in the analysis of the data. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05 for all tests. RESULTS: The mean PUKI total score was found to be 6.42±2.77, and sleep quality was found to be poor in 59.5% of them. The students' trait anger mean score was 19.6±5.48, anger-in mean 17.48±4.27, anger-out score 15.13±3.62, and anger control mean 21.8±4.49. A positive and significant relationship was found between total PUKI score and trait anger, anger-in, anger-out scores. A negative and significant relationship was found between PUKI and anger control. A significant relationship was found between trait anger score and anger in, anger out and anger control. A significant correlation was found between PUKI and age. A significant relationship was found between anger in and anger out scores and gender. CONCLUSION: It has been determined that the sleep quality of medical school students is low and it causes an increase in trait anger level, anger-in and anger-out, and also decreases anger control. We found that trait anger increased both anger in and out and made it difficult to control anger. In this regard, it is thought that training should be given to students on both sleep and anger management.
