dc.description.abstractMany major changes have occured in many fields in our country and the world in living century. Education sector is one of the fields being affected from these changes. The lesson,'service learning to society' (SIS) takes place in the curriculum of Education Faculty as being compulsory with the aim of making teacher candidates gainning social responsibilities, educating them as individuals being able to respond the society's expectation. The aim of this research is to guide the lectures giving this lesson, the teacher candidates, and person, institution and assosiation working with teacher candidates. Lecturers have the most important responsibility for efficiency of this lesson. So in this study, opinions of the lectures have been examined in terms of the scope and process of the lesson. The participants are the lectures instructing in Education Faculties of Amasya and Ondokuz Mayis Universities. The opinions of the lectures have been evaluated according to the results of the questionnaires having 27 items. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.en_US
