Anadolu'nun Fethi Öncesi Kelkit Vadisinin Siyasi ve Askeri Vaziyeti

Abstract

Anadolu'nun fethi öncesi Kelkit Vadisi'nin siyasi ve askeri vaziyetinin ele alınıp incelenmesi bu tezin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Anadolu'nun fethi öncesi bu vadinin, siyasi ve askeri vaziyetiyle beraber coğrafi özellikleri, Bizans'ın Kelkit Vadisindeki askeri varlığı ve idari yapısı, Selçuklu Türklerinin fethi öncesi Anadolu'nun mevcut durumu, Bizans imparatorluğunun mevcut durumu, Kelkit Vadisinin önemi ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Orta ve Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinin sınırları içerisinde olan Kelkit Vadisi dağlarla çevrilidir ve kapalı bölge konumundadır. Bölgenin bu fiziki yapısından dolayı nehir yatakları boyunca kullanılan yollar önem teşkil etmekteydi. Türkler Anadolu'yu keşif ve fetih sürecinde bu yolları kullanmışlardır. Bu yollardan birisi de Kelkit Vadisidir. Burası Bizans için de önemliydi. Çünkü içerisinde Bizans'ın savunma karargâhları ve themalar bulunmaktaydı. Ortaya koyulan çalışmanın amacı Anadolu'nun fethi öncesi Kelkit Vadisi'nin kimin idaresinde olduğu, mevcut siyasi ilişkinin ve Bizans yönetiminin Anadolu coğrafyasında nasıl olduğu, Anadolu'nun Selçuklu Türkleri tarafından keşif seferlerindeki mevcut durumu, vadinin coğrafi açıdan önemi gibi durumları tespit etmektir. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda çalışılan tarih aralığıyla ilgili Bizans kaynakları başta olmak üzere çeşitli kaynaklar incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda Kelkit Vadisi'yle ilgili, kaynakların anlattığı ölçüde bilgilere ulaşılmış Anadolu'nun fethi öncesi Kelkit Vadisi'nin siyasi ve askeri vaziyeti belirlenmiştir. Bu vadi keşif seferlerinden başlayıp daimi ve kesin yerleşmelere kadar koridor vazifesi görmüştür. İn this study ,the political and military situation of this valley before the conquest of Anatolia, its geographical features , its military presence and administrative structure in the Kelkit Valley ,the current state of Anatolia before the conquest of Selcuklu Turks, the currents status of the Byzantine empire, the importance of the Kelkit Valley have been examined. To begin with, the Kelkit Valley, which is within the boundaries of the Middle and Eastern Black Sea region, is surrounded by mountains and is a closed area. Because of this physical structure of the region, the roads used along the river beds were important. Therefore, during that time , the Turks used their discoveries and conquest of Anatolia to their benefit and they have used these roads. And one of those roads include the Kelkit Valley.This place was important fort he Byzantium because it contained Byzantine defense headquarters and themes.The purpose of this study is to determine who is in charge of the Kelkit Valley before the conquest of Anatolia, how the current political relationship and Byzantine rule are in the Anatolian geography the current situation of Anatolian Selcuklu Turks and the importance of the valley from geographic perspective of the valley.For this purpose various sources have been examined, including the Byzantine sources in relation to the historical range studied. As a result of the investigations ,the political and military status of the Kelkit Valley was determined before the conquest of Anatolia.
