Abstract
Denemeden elde edilen sonuçlara göre incelenen özelliklerden orta yaprakçık boyu 0.90-1.76 cm, yaprakçık eni 0.28-0.67 cm, ana dal sayısı 23.33-73.17 adet, bitki boyu 50.00-96.67 cm, bitki yüksekliği 8.22-30.67 cm, bitki başına çiçek topluluğu sayısı 604-2556 adet, çiçek topluluğunda çiçek sayısı 3.73-6.80 adet, meyve topluluğunda meyve sayısı 2.17-4.93 adet, meyve başına tohum sayısı 7.0-28.7 adet olarak belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study was to determine the morphological, phenological and agronomical traits of 86 narrowleaf birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus tenuis Waldst. and Kit.) populations collected from natural areas of Black Sea Region, Turkey in 2009-2010 years. The study was carried out in Gelemen Station of Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute between years 2010 and 2011.The middle leaflets size of populations ranged between 0.90-1.76 (length) and 0.28-0.67 cm (width). The populations differed in the number of stems per plant, varied from 23.33 to 73.17. The stem traits changed between 50.00-96.67 cm (length) and 8.22-30.67 cm (high) in populations. The number of raceme per plant, number of flowers and pods per raceme ranged from 604 to 2566, 3.73 to 6.80 and 2.17 to 4.93, respectively. The number of seed per pod changed between 7.0 and 28.7 in populations. The first flower, full bloom and end of flowering stage of populations ranged from 239 to 266, 269 to 275 and 307 to 316 days, respectively. Mean number of days to first pod and mature pod stage varied from 257 to 274 and 279 to 296 days, respectively. Dry matter yields varied from 63.97 to 257.80 g plant-1 in populations. The leaf/stem ratio changed between 0.54 and 1.02. The seed yield and 1000 seed weigh determined as 3.33-74.64 g plant-1 and 0.78-1.61 g, respectively. The results showed that the Lotus tenuis Waldst. and Kit. populations collected from very different ecological areas of the region have a high variation except for growth habit. It was observed that all of populations had spreading growth habit and there was no rhizome. The presentation of the variability between populations will help geneticists and plant breeders with their future efforts in defining the required characteristics.Key Words: Narrowleaf birdsfoot trefoil, genetic resources, characterization, classification, variation, Black Sea Region
