Koklear İmplant Kullanan Çocukların Ailelerinin Koklear İmplanta Bakışının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, 1-10 yaş arası koklear implant uygulanmış ve implant programlanmasının üzerinden en az 1 yıl geçmiş çocukların ailelerinin koklear implanta bakış açılarının değerlendirilmesi, çocuklarının ve kendilerinin yaşantıları üzerine koklear implantın etkilerinin araştırılmasıdır.Çalışmaya işitme kaybı dışında ek engeli bulunmayan koklear implantlı 40 çocuğun ebeveyni dahil edildi. Ebeveynlerin koklear implantasyona bakış açısı iletişim, genel fonksiyonlar, özgüven, mutluluk, sosyal ilişkiler, eğitim, implantasyon süreci, implantasyonun etkisi, implantasyona karar verme süreci ve destek olmak üzere 10 konu başlığından oluşan Ebeveyn Perspektifinden Koklear İmplantlı Çocuklar Anketi ile değerlendirildi. Ebeveynler çocuklarının koklear implant olma yaşına, implant kullanım süresine ve özel eğitim alma durumuna göre gruplara ayrıldı. Bu gruplar arasında anketteki konu başlıklarına göre karşılaştırılmalar yapıldı.Çalışma sonunda, koklear implantın çocukların ve ailelerinin hayatını olumlu yönde etkilediği, 3 yaş üzerinde implant olan çocuğa sahip ebeveynlerin memnuniyetlerinin daha fazla olduğu ve özel eğitim desteğinin ailenin yaşantısını pozitif yönde etkilediği sonuçlarına ulaşıldı.

The aim of the study, evaluation of parent?s viewpoint on cochlear implantation whose children have undergone it between 1-10 ages and at least a year has passed since this process and the analysis of the impact of cochlear implantation on their lives and on the lives of their children.The parents of 40 children with cochlear implantation who had no additional handicap except for hearing loss were included into the study. Parent?s satisfaction was evaluated by the Questionnaire of Children with Cochlear Implantation through their Parents? Perspective, which consisted of 10 headings, which were communication, general functions , self-confidence, happiness, social relationships, education, the process of implantation , the effects of implantation, decision-making period for implantation, and supporting it. Parents were split into groups as to the age when their children underwent cochlear implantation, the period of time it is being used by their children and whether they received any special education. Comparisons among groups under the topic headings in the questionnaire were implemented.The findings obtained at the end of the study shows that cochlear implantation has a positive effect on the lives of children and their parents, the satisfaction of parents whose children have undergone implantation over 3 years age is greater than other and special education support affect family life positively.
