Objective: The aim of this research is to adapt the Consciousness in Dreams Scale (RBÖ) to Turkish and to examine its psychometic properties. Methods: Five hundred and fifty-one university students participated in the study. The average age of the participants is 21.7; 62% of participants were women, and 38% were men. After the scale bilingual equivalence is completed, the validity and reliability analysis are checked. The exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are used for the construct validity and Cronbach's alpha coefficient is utilized for internal consistency reliability. Also corrected-item total correlations and according to t test results differences between each item's means of upper-lower %27 points were analyzed. Results: In the exploratory factor analysis of the scale, unlike the original form, a 7 factor structure was obtained that explains the 57% of the total variance and consists 28 items. The factor loads were found to vary between 0.34 and 0.92. Confirmatory factor analysis results confirmed the structure that was obtained after exploratory factor analysis (χ2=697.70; χ2/sd=2.17; RMSEA=0.059; SRMR=0.064; CFI=0.96; GFI=0.93; AGFI=0.89; NNFI=0.92). The internal consistency coefficient Cronbach that derived from the reliability analysis of the scale has ranged between 0.73 and 0.82. Corrected item-total correlations ranged 0.31 to 0.77 and according to t test results differences between item's means of upper-lower 27% points were significant. Conclusion: Based on the results obtained after analysis, RBÖ is a valid and reliable that can be used to measure a person’s level of consciousness in dreams. Nevertheless, further studies that will use RBÖ are important for its measurement force. © 2017, Cukurova University, Faculty of Medicine. All rights reserved.en_US
