Publication: Spor Yapan ve Yapmayan Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrencilerin İletişim Kurma ve Psikolojik İyi Oluşlarının İncelenmesi
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı spor yapan ve yapmayan yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerin iletişim kurma ve psikolojik iyi oluşlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırma nicel araştırma modelleri içerisinde yer alan ve betimsel nitelik taşıyan ilişkisel tarama yöntemi ve amaçlı örneklem modeline uygun olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim gören 197 (100 kadın, 97 erkek) öğrenci dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Diener ve ark. (2009-2010) tarafından geliştirilen, Telef (2011; 2013) tarafından türkçeye uyarlanan Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği (PİOÖ) kullanılmıştır. Ölçek kişinin kendisine yönelik yeterlik duygularını, kişiler arası olumlu ilişkilerini, anlamlı ve amaçlı bir yaşam sürdürdüğüne dair düşüncelerini ölçen (1) kesinlikle katılmıyorum ile (7) kesinlikle katılıyorum aralığında değişen 8 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Öğrencilerin iletişim becerileri ölçmek amacıyla daha önce Korkut (1996) tarafından oluşturulan İletişim Becerileri Değerlendirme Ölçeği temel alınarak Korkut Owen ve Bugay (2014) tarafından yeniden geliştirilen 'İletişim Becerileri Ölçeği' (İBÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizinde, normallik testi, bağımsız örneklem t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda katılımcıların cinsiyetine göre iletişim becerileri, iletişim ilkeleri ve temel becerileri ve iletişim kurmaya isteklilik alt boyut toplam puanlarında istatistiki olarak anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Kadınların iletişim becerisi düzeyi, iletişim ilkeleri ve temel becerileri ve iletişim kurmaya isteklilik alt boyutlarında iletişim becerisi düzeyleri toplam puanları erkeklere göre daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Öğrencilerin gelir düzeyine göre psikolojik iyi oluş ve iletişim becerileri toplam puanları ile iletişim kurmaya isteklilik alt boyutunda anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların okudukları fakültelere göre psikolojik iyi oluş ve iletişim becerileri düzeyleri ile kendini ifade etme ve iletişim kurmaya isteklilik alt boyut puanlarında anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Ziraat fakültesi öğrencilerinin kendini ifade etme alt boyutunda toplam puanları İlahiyat ve Eğitim fakültesi öğrencilerine göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Mimarlık fakültesi öğrencilerinin toplam puanları diğer fakültelerde okuyanlara göre daha düşük görülürken Ziraat fakültesi öğrencilerinin toplam puanları diğer fakültelerde okuyanlara göre daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Sonuç olarak sporun yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerinin iletişim becerilerine ve psikolojik iyi oluşlarına etki etmediği görülmüştür.
The purpose of these people is to communicate with foreign nationals who do and do not do sports and to examine their well-being. The research was carried out in accordance with the scanning method and purposive sampling model in terms of descriptive quality, which is included in quantitative research models. The study included 197 (100 female, 97 male) students visited at Ondokuz Mayıs University. The Psychological Well-Being Scale (PIOS) adapted in English by Diener and experimental (2009-2010) and Telef (2011; 2013) was used as a data collection tool in the study. Individual-oriented individuals from the scale consist of selections from individuals, it consists of dairy products to lead a meaningful and purposeful life (1) I strongly agree and (7) it consists of 8 strictly intended items. 'Communication Skills Scale' (CIS) is used again by Korkut Owen and Bugay (2014), which is based on the Communication Skills Evaluation Scale trained by Korkut (1996) more than the content of communication with children. In the statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study, normality test, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used. As a result of the analysis, a statistically significant difference was found in the total scores of Communication Skills, Communication Principles and Basic Skills and Willingness to Communicate according to the gender of the participants (P<0.05). The total scores of the communication skill levels of the women in the sub-dimensions of Communication skill level, Communication Principles and Basic Skills and Willingness to Communicate were higher than men. A significant difference was found in the total scores of psychological well-being and communication skills and the Willingness to Communicate sub-dimension according to the income level of the students (P<0.05). According to the faculties of the participants, there was a significant difference in the Psychological Well-Being and Communication Skills Levels and the sub-dimension scores of Self-Expression and Willingness to Communicate (P<0.05). It was observed that the total scores of the Agricultural faculty students in the Self-Expression sub-dimension were higher than those of the Theology and Education faculty students. While the total scores of Architecture were lower than the other faculties, the total scores of the Faculty of Agriculture were higher than the other faculties. As a result, it was seen that sports did not affect the communication skills and psychological well-being of foreign students.
