Sanal ve Artırılmış Gerçeklik Teknolojilerinin Turizm Sektöründe Kullanılabilirliğine Yönelik Nitel Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Günümüzde teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte bunlara uyum sağlayan cihazlar da geliştirilmiştir. Cihazlar sayesinde teknoloji ve internet kullanımı daha da artmış ve ihtiyaç duyulan bilgiye erişim daha kolay hale gelmiştir. Artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik bu özelliklerin birçoğunu sağlamaktadır. Bu teknolojilerin başta sanal ortamda gerçeklik hissi verme olmak üzere üçboyutlu görüntü verme, bilgiye kolay ulaşma gibi farklı deneyimler sağlamaktadır. Bu teknolojilerbirçok alanda kullanıldığı gibi turizm alanında da kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Buna göre artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik turistlere gidecekleri yeri ziyaret etmeden bilgi ve gerçeklik hissi sağladığı için tercih yapma potansiyelini oldukça artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Samsun ilinde faaliyet gösteren 4 ve 5 yıldızlı toplam 8 konaklama işletme yöneticisinin artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik teknolojilerine yönelik görüşlerinin saptanması hedeflenmiştir. Buna ek olarak bu kuruluşların bu teknolojileri ve uygulamaları kendi işletmelerinde kullanıp kullanmadıkları ve kullanan işletmelerin artırılmış ve sanal gerçeklik uygulamalarının işletmelerine sağladığı faydaları da ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak yorumlanmıştır. Katılımcılarla yapılan görüşmelerle ve literatür incelendiğin artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik uygulamaları konaklama işletmesinde gelişmekte olan bir teknoloji olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Today, with the development of technology, devices that adapt to these technologies have been developed. Thanks to the devices, technology and internet usage have increased even more and access to the needed information has become easier. Augmented reality and virtual reality provide many of these features. These technologies have many benefits, such as providing a sense of reality in a virtual environment and providing different experiences, information and convenience. These are increasingly used in many areas as well as in the field of tourism. These technologies, which are becoming increasingly widespread in the tourism sector, increase the potential of tourists to make a choice, as they provide information and experience without visiting their destination. In this study, it was aimed to determine the views of the managers of 4- and 5-star accommodation establishments operating in Samsun province on augmented reality and virtual reality technologies. In addition to this goal, whether these organizations use these technologies and applications in their own businesses and the benefits of the enterprises using the augmented and virtual reality applications to their businesses were also investigated. In this study, the results were interpreted by using semi-structured interview method, one of the qualitative research methods.
