Abstract

This study examines the role of family on the success of students at school. Thus, it compares the academic success of those students who have not any family problems, and supported by their families with those who have some family problems. For this purpose, 284 students were chosen attended at Ahmet Sari High School as a sample in Samsun in the academic year of 2007-2008. From this sample, while 140 students reported that they did not have any family problems, but they were supported by their families, 144 students said that they had some family problems. A multifactor analysis of variance was used for the evaluation of results. It was found that family factor affected on the success of students at school; while the success of school of those who had some family problems was lower than those who did not any family problems, but supported by their families and the variance was significance at the level of at the level of (P=0,000).
