4-[(4-Chlorobenzylidene)amino]phenol

Abstract

In the molecular structure of the title Schiff base, C<inf>13</inf>H <inf>10</inf>ClNO, the chlorophenyl ring and formimidoyl moiety are almost coplanar, and the dihedral angle between the planes of the phenol and chlorophenyl ring is 34.57 (9)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite one-dimensional chain extending in the b direction, with an O⋯N distance of 2.846 (2) Å. © 2004 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
