Aim: The aim of the study is to determine the mediating role of total quality management practices in the effect of uncertainty perceived by healthcare workers on their job satisfaction levels. Method: The perception of uncertainty brought about by today's changes is very common in healthcare professionals. This situation may negatively affect their perception of job satisfaction. It is predicted that this negative effect can be changed by quality management practices in health institutions and job satisfaction level can be increased. The data of the study were collected between June-December 2023 by using the survey technique from health care professionals working in public hospitals by convenience sampling method. The data obtained were analysed with the 21st version of the SPSS Package Program. Within the scope of the analysis, Baron and Kenny's four-step regression model was used and Sobel test was applied. Results: It was found that 63.7% of the participants were female, 83% were married and 47.1% were in the 36-45 age range. It was found that 36.3% of the participants were undergraduate graduates and 57.8% of them were nurses. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient of the Perception of Organisational Uncertainty Scale was found to be 0.92 and the Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient of the Total Quality Management Scale was found to be 0.95. As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that total quality management plays a partial mediating role between the perception of organisational uncertainty and job satisfaction. Conclusion: As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that total quality management played a partial mediating role between the perception of organisational uncertainty and job satisfaction. © 2024 The Authors.en_US
