Abstract
Armenians who have lived a peaceful life by protecting their ethnic identity and living their religious freedoms for centuries under Ottoman rule have took part in the important duties in the Ottoman Empire. Despite all this, the good relations of the Armenians with the Ottoman Empire began to deteriorate towards the 19th century with the use of the Armenians by some Great Powers in order to realize some intentions over the Ottoman Empire. And with this deterioration, the Armenians, who ignored the good relations between them and the Ottomans, and expressed that they were suffered actually, tried to announce the separatist intentions to the whole World through the newspapers and magazines they published also with the help of external forces and through the rebellions. However, this situation has played a serious role in the death of both its own people and innumerable innocent Muslims. But still the world public opinion has preferred to be indifferent to all these things and to act in favour of the Armenians. 'Deportation Decision of 1915' is considered as the summit point of events and in the face of this situation named as 'Armenian Question' on the stage of history the propaganda work towards the Ottoman Empire gained momentum with all its power. With the outbreak of World War I, the Armenians had the opportunity to use this process in line with what they wanted. The Armenians who were supported also by the Great Powers caused the Ottoman State a very serious damage through their propaganda activities against them. The most striking one of these propaganda activities is the Armenian Herald Journal published in the USA. In the journal it was tried to draw intensely the image of 'oppressed Armenian, cruel Turk'. This image of the journal lighted the fuse for the controversial controversies of the so-called Armenian Question, which is up to the day and is expected to last as long as possible.
