Türkiye'de Yarış Atlarına Ait Genetik Parametre Tahminleri için Rastgele Regresyon ve Reml Yöntemlerinin Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Atların yarışmalardaki başarı performansları genetik ve çevre faktörlerinin etkisi altındadır. Bu durum ekonomik getirisinden dolayı özellikle yarış atlarında daha büyük öneme sahiptir. Yarış atlarında egzersiz performansı maksimum seviyeye ulaşmasında birden fazla faktörün bileşimi etkili olmaktadır. Pedigri kayıtlarına göre seçilmiş aygır ve kısrakların çiftleştirilmesi yoluyla yüksek performans gösterebilecek yarış atları yetiştirilebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı farklı yöntemlerle koşu atlarında bir dizi yarış başarısı özelliği üzerine damızlık değerleri (DD) gibi genetik parametreleri tahmin etmek ve yöntemleri karşılaştırmaktır. Bu çalışmada koşu atlarının yaşı, yarışma sonuçları, koşu yılı,yarış pistinin mesafesi, yarış pistinin özelliği, gibi parametreler ele alınmıştır. Yarışma performansları farklı ölçümlerle aynı tekrarlanabilirlik modeli kullanılarak karşılaştırılmıştır. Yarış atı için DD tahminleri birinci dereceden Legendre polinomları kullanılarak rastgele regresyon modelleri (RRM) ve Tekrarlanabilir hayvan modeliyle REML ile elde edilmiştir. Böylelikle koşu atlarının damızlık değerlerini ve kalıtım derecelerini en iyi şekilde tahmin edebilecek yöntem ya da yöntemler belirlenmiştir. AIC ve BIC değerlerine bakıldığında DFREML yöntemindeki değerlerin REML yöntemine göre daha düşük olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu sebeple DFREML yönteminin REML yöntemine göre tercih edilebileceği görülmüştür.

The success of horses in the competitions is influenced by genetic and environmental factors. This is of great importance, especially for racehorses, because of its economic benefits. The combination of multiple factors is effective in achieving the maximum level of exercise performance in racehorses. According to the pedigree records, racehorses that can perform high can be raised by mating the selected stallions and mares. The aim of this study is to estimate and compare genetic parameters such as breeding values (BV) on a number of race success characteristics in running horses with different methods. In this study, parameters such as the age of racehorse, results of the race, racing year, distance of race track, type of race track was evaluated. Competition performances were compared with different measurements using the same repeatability model. BV estimations for racehorse were obtained by using random regression models (RRM) and Repeatable animal model with REML using first-order Legendre polynomials. Thus, the methods or methods that can best estimate the breeding values and heritability of running horses have been determined. When AIC and BIC values were examined, it was observed that the values in DFREML method were lower than REML method. For this reason, DFREML method can be preferred compared to the REML method.
