Abstract

This thesis dissertation consists of an introductions five chapters and a conclusion. In tie introduction, tie events that had effected the region before the treaty are given. In the first chapter, following the East Operation, the units of Eastern Front Conunandershlp are indicated with their human resources, military equipments aid reorganisations after the 12. division had gome to the Western Front It is seen that after the Moscow Treaty, the «nits of Eastern Front Commandershlp were preserved in terms of their human resources and equipments. That means that at the period after tie Moscow Treaty, Turkey still maintained serious doubts about Moscow's intention. In the second chapter, the problems which emerged from the implementation of the Moscow Treaty are Investigated. According to 16 th article, the Moscow Treaty, signed on 16 th March 1921, had been exchanged in Kars and had come into force on 22 September 1921. The third chapter deals with the measures to prevent the probable attacks of the Red Army. In the fourth chapter, the methods and activities of the Bolsheviks for espionage and propaganda, and the the measures of Ankara taken are Investigated. In the fifth chapter, the impact of Union and Progress Party for defence of Eastern Anatolia is studied. In the conclusion, the results of the resarch are presented. This dissertation suggests a new approach to the events off Turkish- Russian relations in the period of later following the Moscow Treaty and attempts to explore the mature of this relations as far as possible.
