A Case of Miliary Tuberculosis Presenting as Multiple Drained Subcutaneous Abscesses in an Elderly Man

Abstract

A case of miliary tuberculosis presenting as multiple drained subcutaneous abscesses in an elderly man. In this report, a case of miliary tuberculosis presenting as multiple drained subcutaneous abscesses in an elderly man was described. The patient was admitted to our department one month after his first symptom. We began the treatment after detection of acidfast bacilli (ARB) in the smear of abscess material and sputum but he died in the fourth day of treatment. The diagnosis of tuberculosis was confirmed by positive culture.
