Abstract
This study was conducted in Genetic Resources Experimental Area of Black-Sea Agricultural Research Institute with 44 cherry genotypes collected from Amasya (TOGTAG 2601) and Giresun (TOVAG 1040113) in the years 2010 and 2011. In this study, it was aimed to determine phenological, morphological and pomological characteristics of these genotypes and to select promising genotypes. In the research, phenological, morphological and pomological traits such as first blossom, full blossom, harvest date, tree growth habit, leaf width and length (cm), flower shape, fruit weight (g), fruit width, length and height (mm), yield, fruit weight, fruit shape, skin color, soluble solid content (%), titrable acid content (%), flavor and outer appearance of the fruit of 44 cherry genotypes were determined. To determine of the promising cherry genotypes, ?Modified Weight-Ranked Method? was used. According to weighted-ranked method based on fruit weight, yield, outer appearance of the fruit, flavor, harvest date and soluble solid content, 11 cherry genotypes were selected as superior genotypes in 2010, 6 cherry genotypes were determined as promising genotypes in 2011. `A5? genotype, 6 of promising cherry genotypes had the highest score in both years. And `A6?, `A4?, `A12?, `A8? and `Ş2? genotypes followed it.In the genotypes examined in the study, harvest date varied from 27 May to 21 July. In the promising cherry genotypes, the harvest date were on 8 June to 21 July, fruit weight varied from 4.12 to 9.29 g, fruit width varied from 19.46 to 32.63 mm, fruit length varied from 16.06 to 22.82 mm, fruit height varied from 17.87 to 22.47 mm, soluble solid contents were between 12.5-24.9 %, titrable acid contents were in the range of 0.64-1.28, leaf width varied from 5.71 to 8.79 cm, leaf length varied from 12.74 to 18.35 cm, leaf stem varied from 31.59 to 42.58 mm.Key words: Cherry, genotype, phenology, pomology, morphology
