Bir Eğitim ve Tercüme Kurumu Olarak Beytü'l - Hikme

Abstract

Fetihler sonucunda sınırları genişleyen İslam Devleti, antik medeniyet mirasına sahip coğrafya ile komşu olmuş ve bu coğrafyada bulunan bilim ve felsefe eserlerini tercüme yolu ile kendi medeniyetine taşımıştır. Abbasilerle beraber hız kazanan bu faaliyetler Halife Me'mun zamanında bir akademi kimliği kazanan 'Beytü'l-Hikme 'de yoğunlaşmış, burada yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda 'İslam'ın Altın Çağı' yaşanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Beytü'l-Hikme'de yapılan tercümeler, bilimsel çalışmalar ve dönemin eğitim- öğretim faaliyetleri hakkında bilgi vermeye çalışılmıştır. Tezin giriş bölümünde bilim ve felsefenin kökenleri ve aktarımı ile ilgili bilgi verilmiştir. Birinci bölümde Beytü'l-Hikme'nin kuruluşu ve gelişimi, ikinci bölümde Beytü'l-Hikme'nin yapısı ve faaliyetleri, üçüncü bölümde Beytü'l-Hikme döneminde eğitim öğretim faaliyetleri ve dördüncü bölümde ise Beytü'l-Hikme'nin sona ermesi ve etkileri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.

Islamic Empire whose boundaries expanded as a result of conquests, bordered on the countries having the heritage of ancient civilizations and it brought the scientific and philosophical works into Islamic civilization through translation. These works increased during the reign of Abbasid Caliphs and reached the peak in the House of Wisdom gaining the academic identity during the reign of Caliph al-Ma'mun; as a result of works done there, ''Islamic Golden Age'' had been experienced. In this study, we have tried to give information about the translations done in the House of Wisdom, the scientific works and the educational activities in this period. In the first chapter it was mentioned about the foundation of House of Wisdom, in the second chapter it was given information about the structure and activities of House of Wisdom, in the third chapter it was talked about educational activities in that period and in the last chapter it was given information about the end and the effects of the House of Wisdom.
