Abstract
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Mustafa Kemal Atatürk'ün önderliğinde, batılı devletlere karşı verilen milli bağımsızlık mücadelelesi sonucunda kurulmuştur. Genç Cumhuriyetin hedefi askeri alanda kazandığı bu mücadeleyisosyal, ekonomik ve eğitim alanlarında da kazanmaktı.Cumhuriyet bu maksatla Osmanlı eğitim sisteminin ardından yeni bir eğitim modeli geliştirerek çağdaşdemokratik ve laik bireyler yetiştirmek politikasını meydana getirmiştir.Bu çalışma ile Cumhuriyetin öncesinde ve Cumhuriyet döneminde eğitim durumu ele alınmıştır.Samsun'un tarihsel, coğrafi ve demografik yapısı konumuz kapsamında olup,1960 öncesinde kurulan okulların incelenmesi ve tarihsel gelişimi araştırmamızın temel konusunu oluşturmuştur.
Republic of Turkey has been founded as a result of the National Independence Struggle against the western states under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The battle succeded in military field, the main goal of the new born Rupublic was to crown this win in social, economic and educational aspects too. In this term, The Republic adopted to educate contemporary, democratic an secular individuals by developing a new educational model after Ottoman educational system.In this sutdy, it is aimed to overwiew the historical development of primary education institutions in Samsun at pre-Republic and at the Republic period as well.Samsun's historical, geographical and demographic structures within the scope of the subject, our main approach in this study is based on the studying of the schools established before 1960 and their historical development.
