9-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-3,3,6,6-Tetramethyl-10-p-Tolyl-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10-Decahydroacridine-1,8-Dione

Abstract

In the title compound, C31H35NO3, the central heterocyclic ring of the octa-hydro-acridinedione system is planar while the outer two rings each adopt an envelope conformation. The buckling angle between the two halves is 8.52 (3)°, which shows the relative planarity of the deca-hydro-acridinedione system. The dihedral angle between the planes of the two aromatic rings is 7.55 (7)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by two inter-molecular C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds that generate C(10) chains and an R 2 2(16) ring motif. A weak C - H⋯π inter-action further stabilizes the structure. © International Union of Crystallography 2007.
