Kirazlarda Tepe Kesiminin Büyüme, Verim ve Meyve Kalitesi Üzerine Etkisinin Araştırılması

Abstract

There are many cut types for the pruning of cherry trees, but heading and thinning cuts are known as two basic cut types. Heading cuts are defined as the shortening of the terminal (tip) part of the shoots, which is about 1/4-1/3 of the shoots. Thinning cuts are defined as the total removal of the shoot. In cherry cultivation, there are many rootstocks that make different size of trees from small to large, such as Gisela 3, Gisela 5, Gisela 6, PHL-C, PİKU 1, PİKU 3 and CAB 6P. The importance of heading cuts in rootstocks such as PHL-C and Gisela series has been demonstrated in many studies. But there is no information in literature on whether to make a heading cut on semi-dwarf rootstocks such as PİKU 3 and CAB 6P. In our country, no previous studies have been conducted on these issues. However, orchards are also established with these rootstocks in our country. This study was conducted at Samsun Bafra Ondokuz Mayıs University Aglicultural Application and Research Center during 2019-20, and was aimed to determine the effect of heading cuts on growth, yield, and fruit quality on 'Regina'/CAB 6P and 'Summit'/PİKU 3, variety/rootstock combinations. Some characteristics, such as tree and crown volumes (m3), fruit weight (g), fruit width (mm), fruit firmness (kg/cm2), soluble solids content (%), and yield (kg/tree) were determined in the experiment. According to the results of research, it was determined that heading cuts do not statistically affect growth, yield, and fruit quality characteristics in these combinations. However, the observed results from the experiment will reveal us more clearly in the next period that the heading cut section increases the number of lateral shoots and makes the shoot lengths more reasonable. It also proved important to evaluate the next year's results.

Kiraz ağaçlarının budanmasında birçok kesim tipi vardır. Ancak tepe ve seyreltme kesimleri iki temel kesim tipi olarak karşımıza çıkar. Tepe kesimleri sürgünlerin uç kısımlarının yani sürgünün yaklaşık 1/4-1/3'ü kadar kısaltılması olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Seyreltme kesimleri ise sürgünün tümden kaldırılması olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kiraz yetiştiriciliğinde Gisela 3, Gisela 5, Gisela 6, PHL-C, PİKU 1, PİKU 3, CAB 6P gibi küçükten büyüğe doğru farklı büyüklüklerde ağaçlar yapan çok sayıda anaç bulunmaktadır. Bu anaçlardan bodur Gisela serisi anaçlarda tepe kesiminin önemi birçok çalışma ile ortaya konmuştur. Fakat PİKU 3 ve CAB 6P gibi yarı kuvvetli anaçlar üzerinde tepe kesiminin yapılıp yapılmayacağına dair herhangi bir bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Ülkemizde bu konularda daha önce herhangi bir çalışma da yapılmamıştır. Oysa ülkemizde bu anaçlarla da bahçeler kurulmaktadır. 2019-2020 yılları arasında Samsun Bafra Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tarımsal Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezinde yürütülen bu çalışmada 'Regina'/CAB 6P ve 'Summit'/PİKU 3 çeşit/anaç kombinasyonlarında tepe kesiminin büyüme, verim ve meyve kalitesi üzerine etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Denemede ağaç ve taç hacimleri (m3), meyve ağırlığı (g), meyve eni (mm), meyve sertliği (kg/cm2), suda çözünür kuru madde içeriği (%) ve verim (kg/ağaç) gibi özellikler tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda tepe kesiminin bu kombinasyonlarda büyüme, verim ve meyve kalite özellikleri üzerine istatistiksel açıdan etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte denemeden aldığımız veri ve gözlemler tepe kesiminin yan dal sayısını artırdığını ve sürgün boylarını daha makul yaptığını bize gelecekte daha net bir şekilde gösterecektir.
