Abstract
After the closure of Türk Ocakları, People's Houses were established in 1932 with the aim of spreading the values gained by the declaration of the republic to broader segments of society. These institutions had a significant impact on the Turkish nation during the history of the republic. The People's Houses provided an ideal environment for the social and cultural development of people. Through various branches established within this environment, they organized activities to promote development in areas such as education, health, agriculture, arts, literature, and sports. People's Houses engaged in publishing activities to document and communicate their work to the public. The 'Language, History, and Literature Branch,' which was one of the branches of People's Houses, published magazines as a means of communication in many regions. In these magazines, published under the branches of People's Houses, articles were written to inform the public about the local characteristics, history, important events, arts, literature, folk culture, education, public health, geographical features, and agricultural activities of the region. One of the People's Houses that played an important role in the social and cultural development of the Turkish society during the republic period was the Çorum People's Houses. Established in 1933, Çorum People's Houses continued its activities in line with the general characteristics of People's Houses. The Çorumlu magazine, published between 1938 and 1946 by Çorum People's Houses, is significant in terms of documenting the activities of the People's Houses. The Çorumlu magazine, published by the Language, History, and Literature Branch, included information in various fields such as education, health, sports, literature, geography, folklore, and sports. The articles related to Çorum were written by prominent intellectuals of the city, who were part of the magazine's editorial staff. The magazine also featured articles on notable figures in Çorum's history, significant events in the region, national holiday celebrations, and cultural activities. In this context, Çorumlu magazine has become an important local historical source, reflecting and promoting the period's history, understanding, and characteristics, and carrying them forward into the future.
