Abstract
Bilateral thalamic infarction is a rare clinical condition. Altered mental status, decrease alertness, difficulty in waking, memory problems, mood disorders, cognitive problems and palsy of vertical vision can be seen in this condition which occurs in a small proportion of patients with ischemic stroke. In some cases, the clinical manifestation may be associated with ocular findings. Bilateral thalamic infarction which may develop depending on the different etiologic factors often occurs due to atherosclerotic disease of the small blood vessels. In this article, a case belongs to a forty-seven years old woman which had bilateral thalamic infarction, but no chronic disease in her history was presented.
