Abstract
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C<inf>2</inf>H <inf>8</inf>N<inf>2</inf>)<inf>3</inf>](C<inf>5</inf>H<inf>2</inf>N <inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf>)·1.67H<inf>2</inf>O, consists of three [Ni(en)<inf>3</inf>]2+ dications (en is ethyl-enediamine), three [(pzdc)<inf>3</inf>]2- dianions (pzdc is pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxylate) and five water molecules. In each complex dication, the NiII atom is coordinated by six N atoms from three en ligands forming a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, the ions and water molecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by a large number of N - H⋯O and O - H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
