Abstract
Hymenoptera stings are an allergic reaction that is clinically simple, moderate, or lifethreatening, often seen in summer and autumn. While mostly non-life-threatening local reactions are observed in the cases, large local lesions, systemic involvement, or anaphylaxis may also be seen, depending on the patient’s immunoglobulin E response. Detailed history and physical examination are of great importance for diagnosis since the clinical picture is so variable in post-injection cases, and there is no specific laboratory or imaging method for diagnosis. While uncomplicated local lesions are usually treated with cold application, analgesics, steroids, and antihistamines are used to treat large local lesions. If anaphylaxis is present, adrenaline should also be used in the treatment. © 2022 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
