Abstract
The identity demands that emerged in the 1960s with globalization led to a different social mobility, which in the process of reorganization of capitalism has brought different contradictions and inequalities to the agenda. New social movements, which have become systematically visible from the second half of the 19th century, are separated from the old movements as goals, methods, values and organizational structure. and these new movements claim that they have found solutions to problems that cannot be explained by economic issues. This situation causes the old and new movements to form different relations between women and LGBTI. The aim of this thesis is to understand how the old social movements are related to the new social movements and to explain the reasons of the relation forms. For this purpose, qualitative research method was used in the research and descriptive analysis method was used for data analysis. The sample of the research is The Labor Party, Freedom and Solidarity Party and the Communist Party of Turkey and Turkey Women's Associations Federation, the Rainbow Coalition. According to the main conclusion of the study; old social movements produce three different responses to women and LGBTI issues and movements. These are; 'acceptance and rejection', 'revisionist effort' and 'rejection'. The old social movements are influenced by the different interpretations of Marxism in producing these answers. The similarity of these three different responses produced by the old social movements is that they cannot be isolated from patriarchal thought. Key Words: Old social movements, New social movements, Women's movement, LGBTI movement, Patriarchy.
