Abstract

Germination is a crucial process that influences seedling development and can alter nutrient availability in plants. To explore the effects of organosilane derivatives on this process, the naphthalene-1,5-diamine-coupled triethoxy-organosilanes were synthesized via Click chemistry and characterized using several spectroscopic methods, including FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy (1H &13C), and mass spectrometry (MS). Their molecular structures were further confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is one of the world's most important staple grains and a primary source of calories and protein for the global population. Their effects were assessed on wheat through wheat through seedling-growth. The effects of different concentrations of compounds 1b, 2b on various plant bioassay parameters were evaluated and compared with a control group.Among the concentrations tested, 7.5 mg L-1 resulted in the most pronounced improvements in growth metrics compared with the control. In addition, the synthesized ligands exhibited strong anticancer effects, lowering cell viability relative to untreated controls.
