Sağlık Yüksekokulu ve Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksek Okulu Öğrencilerinin İlk Yardım ve Temel Yaşam Desteği Hakkında Bilgi, Tutum ve Davranışlarının Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, bir Sağlık Yüksekokulu'nda (SYO) Hemşirelik Bölümü (HB) öğrencileri ve Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulu'nda (SHMYO) okuyan Evde Bakım Programı (EBP) ve Tıbbi Dökümantasyon ve Sekreterlik (TDSP) öğrencilerin İlk Yardım ve Temel Yaşam Desteği konusunda bilgi, tutum ve davranışlarının karşılaştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Materyal ve Metot: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırmanın evrenini, Ekim 2016- Haziran 2017 tarihleri arasında Kastamonu Üniversitesi Fazıl Boyner SYO HB öğrencileri ve Kastamonu Üniversitesi Tosya Meslek Yüksekokulu Sağlık Hizmetleri bölümünde EBP ve TDSP öğrencileri olmak üzere 300 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Değerlendirme her doğru cevaba bir puan her yanlış cevaba 0 puan verilerek 20 puan üzerinden yapılmıştır. Araştırmada toplanan verilerin analizinde 9 farklı istatistiksel analiz uygulanmış ve bu analizler bilgisayarda SPSS for Windows 22.00 istatistik paket programı ile yapılmıştır Bulgular: Araştırmaya alınan HB' de öğrenim gören öğrencilerin % 15,6'sının bilgi düzeyi 'düşük', % 79,7'sinin bilgi düzeyi 'orta', % 4,7'sinin bilgi düzeyi 'yüksek', EBP+TDSP'da öğrenim gören öğrencilerin % 38'inin bilgi düzeyi 'Düşük', % 60,2'sinin bilgi düzeyi 'Orta', % 1,9'unun bilgi düzeyi 'Yüksek' ve aralarındaki farklara ilişkin ki-kare değeri p<0.05 önem düzeyinde anlamlı bulunmuştur. Bu bulgular araştırmaya alınan HB ve EBP+TDSP'da öğrenim gören öğrencilerin temel yaşam desteği ve ilk yardım konusundaki bilgi düzeyleri arasında fark olduğunu göstermektedir. Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, HB öğrencilerinin İlk Yardım ve Temel Yaşam Desteği konusundaki bilgi düzeylerinin EBP+TDSP öğrencilerine göre daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Gelecekte sağlık hizmeti verecek olan kurumlarda görev yapacak öğrencilerin ilk yardım ve temel yaşam desteği bilgi, tutum ve davranış konusunda bilgi ve deneyim kazanmalarını sağlayacak şekilde eğitim programlarının gözden geçirilerek yenilenmesi gerektiği kanaatine varılmıştır. Aims: The purpose of this study is to compare the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of students studying at a school of health Nursing Department (ND) and vocational school of health services Home Care Program (HCP) , Medical Documentation and Secretary Program (MDSP) on first aid and basic life support. Material and method: The population of this descriptive study consisted of 300 students studying at the School of Health of Kastamonu University ND students and Tosya Vocational School of Kastamonu University HCP+MDSP students and between October 2016 and June 2017. Survey questions prepared were used in the study in order to measure the knowledge level of the students. The assessment was made over 20 points, where each correct answer was given 1 point and incorrect answer was given 0 point. 9 different statistical analyses were used to analyze the data and these analyses were made through the SPSS for Windows 22.00 statistical package on the computer. Results: Among the students studying at the ND included in the study, 15.6% had 'low' level of knowledge, 79.7% had 'moderate' level of knowledge and 4.7% had 'high' level of knowledge. On the other hand, among the students studying at HCP and MDSP, 38% had 'low' level of knowledge, whereas 60.2% had 'moderate' level of knowledge and 1.9% had 'high' level of knowledge. The chi-square value concerning the differences between them was found to be significant in the significance level of p<0.05. These results indicated that the students studying at the ND and the HCP+MDSP had different knowledge levels for basic life support and first aid. İt was observed that the students in the ND had higher knowledge levels than the students in the HCP+MDSP. Conclusion: It has been found that the students of ND have higher levels of First Aid and Basic Life Support knowledge than the students of HCP+MDSP. It has been concluded that the education programs should be renewed in order to provide first aid and basic life support knowledge, attitude and behavior to knowledge and experience of the students who will serve in future healthcare institutions.
