Abstract

The crystal structure of 1-methyl-3,5-diphenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole compound was investigated. N-benzoyl ethylimidobenzoate (0.01 mol) and methylgydrazine (0.01 mol) in ethanol (50 ml) were refluxed for 8 hours. The solution was evaporated at 313-323 K under reduced pressure and the solid residue was recrystallized from ethanol-water (3:1) to give the compound in 86% yield. It was shown that the dihedral angles between the triazole and the ring C1a-C6a was 15.5 (7)° and between triazole and the ring C9a-C14a was 33.6 (9)°, and between the rings C1a-C6a and C9a-C14a was 46.1 (8)°.
