Abstract
It was aimed to investigate complication development risk cases in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) using logistic regression models. The research was carried out retrospectively from patients diagnosed with diabetes who applied to Gazi University Health Research and Practice Center (GÜSAUM). Written permission from GÜSAUM and the ethics committee approval was obtained from Ondokuz Mayıs University Clinical Research Ethics Committee (OMÜ KAEK 2016/277), before begin the research. In the research, the main diagnoses of patients who were treated from GÜSAUM Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) were determined. Although there were many factors related to diabetes, it was determined that age, sex, fasting glucose, postprandial blood glucose, HbA1C, HDL, VLDL, LDL, total cholesterol and triglyceride were the most common and achievable optimal parameters related to the disease between 01.01.2015 and 31.12.2015. In the binary logistic regression model, three different models were constructed and the effects of the parameters on the dependent variable were examined. The multinomial logistic regression model was modeled in terms of diabetic complications and the effects on the dependent variable were examined.
