Jacques Berque'nin Kur'an Algısı ve Çevirisi

Abstract

Kur'an çevirisindeki müşkilleri, teolojik ve filolojik olmak üzere iki alanda özetlemek mümkündür. Mucizevî yönüne halel gelebilir endişesiyle, İslam inancının önemli bir kutsalı olan Kur'an'ın çevirisine mesafeli duruş teolojik sorunsalın bir yönüne işaret eder. Günümüzde tercümelerin yaygınlaşıp, söz konusu çekincenin zayıfladığı düşünülse de hâlihazırdaki İslam ulemâsının yaklaşımı Kur'an'ın birebir tercümesinin mümkün olmadığı, bu faaliyetlerin 'yorum' olarak değerlendirilmesi gerektiğidir. Arap Dili'nin farklı anlamlara gelen ve özellikle çağdaş mütercimleri oldukça zorlayan değişik anlamlara gelebilecek kelimeler, birçok ayetin oldukça kısa oluşundan kaynaklanan belirsizlikler, tekrarlar ve ani konu değişiklikleri de dilbilimcilerin kabul ettiği başka bir sorundur. Son dönem çalışmalarından Fransızca bir Kur'an meâli olan Le Coran Essai de Traduction adlı çeviri ve onun metodolojisi sadedindeki Relire Le Coran adlı eserler, bu tartışmaya tesir eden Jacques Berque'nin önemli yapıtlarından sayılır. Bu meseleye mütevazı bir katkı sunmayı hedefleyerek tezimizde Fransız düşünür Jacques Berque'nin Kur'an algısı ve çevirisi değerlendirilecektir: Çalışmamız giriş, üç ana bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, Kur'an-ı Kerim özelinde, Batı ve Fransa tarihinde şarkiyât araştırmaları. İkinci bölümde J. Berque'nin hayatının yanı sıra yaşadığı dönemin ilmî ve siyasî ortamı aydınlatılacaktır. Bu bölümde, Jacques Berque'in sosyoloji alanındaki yetkinliği dolayısıyla, hayatı boyunca takındığı siyâsî tavırları ve İslam'a dair görüşlerine değinilecektir. Üçüncü bölümde ise J. Berque'in Kur'an çevirisindeki metodu, Kur'an'ın muhtevasına ilişkin görüşleri, Kur'an algısı, ayrıca eserinin yazılış amacı, üslûbu ve İslam literatürü kaynaklarına yaklaşımı anlatıldıktan sonra kullandığı kaynakların değerlendirilmesine yer verilecektir.

It is possible to summarize the challenges of translating the Quran in two categories as theological and philological. Keeping away from translating the Quran because of a concern about harming its miraculous characteristics, points out a dimension of the theological problem. Although translations are thought to be widespread and aforementioned reservation is being weakened, currently Islamic scholars' approach to the matter is that a direct translation of the Quran is not possible but those efforts should be regarded as 'interpretations'. Especially, the words from Arabic Language that can have different meanings which creates difficulty for contemporary translators, the ambiguities that arise from many verse's being quite short, repetitions and instantaneous changes of topics are among the problems accepted by linguists. Jacques Berque's recent French translation of the Quran known as Le Coran Essai de Traduction and the topic of its methodology Relire Le Coran are considered as his most important works witch have influanced this debate. With the aim of providing a modest contribution we'll try to analyse Jacques Berque's translation and perception of the Quran. This work consists of an opening chapter, three main chapters and a conclusion chapter. In the first chapter, there are orientalism researches in the history of West and France within a Quranic perspective. In the second chapter, J. Berque's life and academic and political atmosphere of his era will be elaborated. In this chapter, because of his competency in the field of sociology, J. Berque's lifelong political manner and his thoughts on Islam will be emphasized. In the Third Chapter, after explaining J. Berque's method in translating the Quran, his thoughts on its content, his Quranic perspective and also the aim and manner of his work and his approach to Islamic literature; the evaluation of sources that he used will be included.
