The ABSQR Code game was developed to reinforce the names, formulas, types and reactions of acids, bases and salts in high school and university students for practicing acids, bases and salts as part of a Chemistry course. The game is played by 15 students with 3 students in each group, and repeated in three rounds. Students have the chance to take the role of the acid, base and salt in subsequent rounds. The game involves QR codes created for 5 different acids, 5 different bases, 5 different salts and 5 water molecules (if the product of reaction is water). QR code is a matrix barcode originally designed in Japan. The ABSQR Code game asks the students as a group to write the formula and the type (acid/base/salt) of the compound in the QR codes, to specify the status of the acid and base as strong or weak; to specify the status of the salt as acidic, basic or neutral; to write and balance the reaction required for the acid and base to form the salt; and to show whether the reaction they have written produces water. Through this game, students are presented with an effective, amusing and permanent practicing opportunity to reinforce their knowledge of acids, bases and salts.en_US
