Publication: Diş Hekimlerinin Psikolojik Sözleşme Algılamalarının ve İş Stresinin İşten Ayrılma Niyetine Etkisi
Abstract
Stress, one of the constant problems on nowadays, has always been an important issue due to its impact on human life and the resulting consequences such as separation plans. The aim of this training is to examine the effects of psychological contracts and job stress on the intention to leave the job of general practitioners and specialist dentists working in Samsun Oral and Dental Health Centers and Samsun public hospitals. 246 dentists registered between 01.07.2024 and 31.08.2024 were reached through the research. As a result of the research, a statistically significant positive correlation was found between the job stress that dentists were exposed to throughout their working lives and their intention to leave (Correlation coefficient: 0.434, p<0.05). No statistically significant relationship was found between psychological contract perceptions and intention to leave (Correlation coefficient: -0.021, p>0.05). A negative relationship between the job stress experienced by dentists and their psychological contract perceptions is different and significant in terms of this relationship (Correlation exists: - 0.140, p<0.05). Although 64.6% of the dentists participating in the research want to leave their jobs if they find the opportunity, only 18.7% are looking for a new job. When the research is evaluated in all its aspects, striking results regarding the working lives of dentists stand out. This study revealed that dentists have a stressful work life and that their work stress causes them to resign. In the literature review, it was seen that there are many studies on physicians and nurses, which are professional groups that provide health services, but studies on dentists have not been studied sufficiently. This study made a contribution to the literature for the dentist group. Important recommendations of the study include giving importance to studies aimed at increasing dentists' institutional affiliation and preventing negativities regarding dentists' psychological contract perceptions by communicating with institutional managers.
