1,3Bis(3,4-Dicyanophenoxy)Benzene

Abstract

The compound 1,3-bis(3,4-dicyanophenoxy)benzene was synthesized as a precursor of dye pigments, and its molecular structure was analyzed. Single crystals were obtained from ethanol at room temperature via slow evaporation. The molecular structure revealed the presence of four cyano groups. The C7≡N1, C8≡N2, C21≡N3, and C22≡N4 bond distances were 1.137 (2), 1.144 (2), 1.140 (2) and 1.138 (2) Å, respectively.
